What: Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) 50th anniversary celebration.

Who: Eighty people attended the event, including the chair and vice-chair of SCDI’s north-east committee, Colin Parker and Jim Milne CBE; SCDI chief executive, Ross Martin; Patrick Duffy, director for properties and visitor services, National Trust for Scotland; former provost Jill Webster, Aberdeenshire Council; and Lord Provost George Adam, Aberdeen City Council.
Why: The reception was held to mark 50 years of SCDI having an office presence in Aberdeen and the north-east. Following a welcome from Patrick Duffy, Colin Parker and Jim Milne both spoke and reflected on their own involvement with SCDI and some of the significant milestones over the 50 years. SCDI’s regional director, Ian Armstrong, looked ahead to the organisation’s plans and priorities for the coming years.
