What: Ceremony to present Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award certificates to 871 young people from across Scotland.
Where: The gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.
Who: HRH The Earl of Wessex attended the ceremony along with presenters including Des Clarke, Fred MacAulay, Hazel Irvine, Acting Minister for Children and Young People Fiona McLeod and Press and Journal editor-in-chief, Damian Bates.
Why: Recipients completed more than 12 months of activities to achieve their Gold Award, including volunteering and taking part in an expedition. The Gold Award presentations celebrated this hard work.
