What: Hawkhill House Nursing Home’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
Where: Hawkhill House Nursing Home, Aberdeen.
Who: Owner and managing director Rona Tayler was joined by staff, residents and Aberdeen International Youth Festival musicians to celebrate 30 years of care.
Why: The occasion was marked with a week-long festival of music. The home’s prize-winning gardens provided a colourful background for a 30-piece steel band from Toronto and a 20-piece jazz band from Blackburn. Recitals were performed on piano and balalaika by the Romanychev brothers from St Petersburg, the Aeon Duo from Mexico and Finland on piano and violin, and the National Youth Choir of Scotland.
A sumptuous afternoon tea with home bakes and strawberries added a perfect finish to the week. All part of the extensive Hawkhill House activities programme.
