What: Debt of Gratitude Dinner in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
Where: Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen.
Who: The evening was hosted by Catherine Robertson Ross MBE, and around 250 guests were joined by representatives from 3 Rifles based in Edinburgh; 2 Scots the Royal Highland Fusiliers Royal Regiment of Scotland; 3 Scots the Black Watch, Royal Regiment of Scotland; 29 Commando Royal Artillery; 45 Commando RM based in Arbroath and RN based at Rosyth. Baroness Annabel Goldie was the main guest speaker.
Why: As well as raising money for ABF, the evening was organised to thank the servicemen and women for their service and in some cases their sacrifice.
Presentations were made by Micky Yule, a former Royal Engineer who lost both his legs in Afghanistan and who is now a professional athlete and power lifter.
Special thanks was given to the Gurkhas who are celebrating 200 years of service to Britain.
