Who: More than 200 family, friends and guests attended from all over Scotland.
Why: The evening was held to raise money to help fund pioneering treatment in Mexico for Erin Smith, who has primary progressive multiple sclerosis.
Vicky Briggs, a friend of Erin’s husband Ben, from Durris, decided to organise a St Andrew’s Day ceilidh.
The evening included music from the New Distillery Ceilidh Band, a raffle, auction and the wonderful announcement of the birth of Erin and Ben’s daughter, Ruby.
The night – which was supported by local businesses Holburn Hifi, Printagraph and Sport Alpha – raised nearly £4,000.
Erin’s story, which was featured in the P&J last month, can be found at www.youcaring.com/erin-smith-432885 where you can also make a
