When does your weekend start?
Recently, it has been with an early Friday evening gym and spa session while my daughter does volunteering work in our neighbouring village.
Perfect night in?
Having friends over for an evening of good food, wine and laughter.
Perfect night out?
Playing golf until 10pm on a dry summer’s evening on the Scottish coast and enjoying the 19th hole for simple, light refreshment before retreating at a sensible hour.
Ideal weekend partner?
A member at Gleneagles looking for a handy lady golfer for a sunny weekend of residential golf competitions.
Favourite weekend shopping destination?
St Andrews – honestly not for the golf, but for shopping, as it is relaxed and quirky.
Favourite place to walk?
The Sutherland hills with my Hungarian Vizsla, Zola.
Weekend you’d love to live again?
Any weekend that involves family, friends, the great outdoors and laughter.
Weekend you’d hate to live again?
Je ne regrette rien – without getting too philosophical, there is usually something to be gained from bad experiences.
Perfect Sunday breakfast?
After an early walk with the dog, I would have a mid-morning healthful mixed-berry smoothie and, once feeling virtuous, brew myself a latte to enjoy with a couple of the finest Aberdeen rowies.
Your cure for the Sunday blues?
I haven’t had Sunday blues since my boarding school days and I’m honestly grateful for every day.
Your dream weekend (if money was no object)?
Jetting to the Alps for a long weekend of powder snow ski-ing in glorious sunshine while staying in a fully catered chalet complete with pool, spa and panoramic mountain views.
