Who: The event was organised by Fiona Cruickshank and Christina Smith, part of a group of 45 people who are heading off to trek the Grand Canyon in September in aid of the Highland Hospice Project Build Appeal.
The ball was attended by 165 guests including locals, family and friends and also fellow trekkers. Amy Morrison, from the hospice, was also there to reiterate how important their new building is.
Why: To take part in the challenge, each person on the trek had to raise £3,900 which will help towards the Highland Hospice’s target of £6.5million for their new build.
The group will spend long hot days in the canyon, trekking an average of seven hours per day for five days.
The Mystical Masquerade Ball consisted of a gorgeous three-course meal followed by a raffle, a live auction held by local band Torridon’s frontman Kenny Smith, plus a silent auction. To finish the evening in style, Torridon filled the dancefloor.
The night went fantastically well – raising £10,410 for the Highland Hospice Project Build Appeal.
