Everyone’s got a novel inside them, as the saying goes, but these days it seems it’s actually a children’s book.
Every celebrity worth their salt has jumped on the bandwagon, from footballer Frank Lampard to David Walliams, Emma Thompson to Holly Willoughby.
Now Richard Curtis, the director of Love, Actually fame, has entered the fray and it’s rather good, actually.
Snow Day is set in one day, December 4, when no-one goes to school because of the snow, except for one naughty boy called Danny Higgins and the strictest teacher in school, Mr Trapper.
They carry on with lessons, but at break time, Danny starts building a snowman. But he’s doing it all wrong, so Mr Trapper shows him how to do it properly and so starts a rather lovely friendship.
Curtis has borrowed quite heavily from his craft, it’s filmic in scope and plot, but definitely worth a read on a chilly winters’ night.
