An Italian pizzeria will open in Aberdeen’s Union Square in November.
The Mozza restaurant will occupy a floorspace of 1,694sq ft in the centre, and will employ 20 people as kitchen and waiting staff.
Mozza is operated by the Tony Macaroni chain of Italian restaurants, and specialises in Neapolitan-style pizza.
Union Square chiefs yesterday confirmed that it would only be a matter of weeks until the business moved in.
General manager, Ryan Manson, said: “We continue to appeal to sought-after retailers, such as Mozza, who have chosen to make their debuts in the north-east here.
“We’re delighted to welcome this exciting brand to our centre and I’m sure our customers will be eager to try their delicious offering.”
Aberdeen City Council approved a change of use application for the site; the former Sony Centre store next to Starbucks on the upper floor, earlier this year.
The centre now has more than 90 outlets, and the addition of the new eatery will bring its jobs total past 2,200.
It was also announced yesterday that gadget and gift shop Menkind will run a pop-up shop at Union Square from this weekend until January.
