Six by Nico opens its doors in Aberdeen on Thursday this week and since the restaurant group announced its move to the city, everyone has been eager to see inside.

Today, the Press and Journal Food and Drink Team got an exclusive look at the restaurant ahead of its opening to give our readers a preview of what’s to come.

While the venue, which is based in the former Topolabamba restaurant, will be hosting a number of launch parties over the next few days, Thursday will be the first day paying customers will get to see inside.

We exclusively revealed the opening date and the restaurant’s first menu just less than two weeks ago and fans of the brand have been booking up tables ever since.

The first menu to be launched in the city will be Six by Nico’s popular The Chippie menu. However, the menu has had a north-east twist to it, being aptly renamed The Chipper.

Dishes include chips and cheese, scampi, steak pie, fish supper, smoked sausage and deep-fried Mars bar which have been reimagined by the Six by Nico team.

But what is the new venue like?

Walking into Six by Nico expect a modern and colourful palette.

From a kaleidoscope of colourful accessories to the trendy grey and teal finishings, it is a feast for the eyes.

At the front of the venue is a range of comfortable booths and higher seating for customers to enjoy some drinks at, plus there’s also a bar to sit at, too.

The restaurant is nearer the rear of the venue, with lines of tables and booth seating, and a long chef’s pass where guests can see easily into the kitchen.
