North-east butchers Donald Russell will be making their return to Taste of Grampian for the first time in a decade as they pivot to reconnecting with the local community.
Headquartered in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, the online butchery firm is backing the event which celebrates the best of local produce.
Taking place on Saturday June 4 at P&J Live in Dyce, Aberdeen, from 9am to 6pm, staff from Donald Russell will welcome thousands of festivalgoers to their stand to enjoy a taste of the variety of products they will be serving up.
The firm, which employs 216 staff from apprentice butchers to warehouse teams, is aiming to reconnect with the local community after being engrained in it for more than 40 years.
It also sends its products nationally and globally, with their quality produce travelling as far as Hong Kong, Switzerland and The Channel Islands.
Donald Russell’s tasty tasters
The online specialists champion quality produce and will cook up tasters of British steak and burgers, as well as sausage rolls made in-house at their premises, at their exhibition at the event.
But it’s not just meat the firm specialises in. They also create chef-prepared meals, cheesecakes and other desserts for customers to purchase online, and many of their products are used by Michelin starred chefs across the country, too.
Donald Russell processes around 7,000 orders across the globe per week, however, to entice more locals to try the brand, they will also be offering exclusive discounts at their stall and will run a competition.
With plenty for festivalgoers to get their teeth into, Ken Clow, chief executive of Donald Russell, is looking forward to offering up a flavour of the brand’s produce at their stand at Scotland’s biggest one-day festival this summer.
He said: “We’re very pleased to be able to attend Taste of Grampian in 2022. We’ve been based in Inverurie since 1974 and we’re very proud of our local and Scottish heritage. We love to share our passion for great-tasting food and there’s no better place to do that.
“Having supplied some of the world’s top restaurants and hotels, and the royal households for the last four decades, as well as supplying customers directly, we have a wealth of food experience and knowledge that we can’t wait to share. Especially as this is an exciting year for Taste of Grampian, moving into a new, larger venue.
“We’d love to see you at our stand and let you taste the results for yourself. The team and I can’t wait to meet you.”
Taste of Grampian is run in association with Quality Meat Scotland and is also supported by ANM Group, Opportunity North East, Aberdeenshire Council, The Press and Journal and Evening Express.
Tickets for the festival are priced at £13.50 and can be purchased here. Parking at P&J Live will also be free on the day.
