Luckily for you, the city is full of hospitality venues that not only serve a line-up of tasty dishes and refreshing drinks, but they’re also dog-friendly.
Whether you’re keen to soak up the sun or shelter yourself from an outpour, here is a list of my top recommended dog-friendly restaurants, bars and cafes to visit whilst in Inverness.
Scotch & Rye
Scotch & Rye is the perfect place for meeting friends for a coffee and catch-up, a lazy lunch, a bite after work, or something a little more indulgent. Oh, and for stopping by with your dog, of course.
Tuck into everything from burgers and hot dogs to great craft brews, and unique (and award-winning) cocktail creations.

Heathmount Hotel
The Heathmount Hotel is a dog-friendly venue that allows your four-legged friends to join you in the lounge, bar or heated terrace, although not in the main restaurant area.
If you were to ask us, we would recommend the terrace area.
The hotel’s focus is on providing stylish surroundings, day and night, with an abundance of great food and drink, both sourced from local suppliers and independent breweries.

Black Isle Bar & Rooms
Black Isle Bar & Rooms has two great bars in the Highlands – one in central Inverness and the other at the west end of Fort William.
Both serve the brand’s own organic craft beers, as well as a line-up of others from around the UK to complement the freshest, homemade wood-fired pizzas.
They also boast a great atmosphere for not only you to enjoy but your furry friend too.
The Inverness bar also boasts its own ‘secret’ rooftop beer garden.

The Snow Goose
Another popular Inverness establishment that welcomes four-legged friends – and has water and treats available to ensure they’re as comfortable as you are during your visit – is The Snow Goose.
The popular spot just off the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road is on land that was originally part of Stoneyfield House, a smallholding on the Raigmore Estate which was built in 1780.
Dogs are allowed in the pub’s bar area as this is the most friendly environment for the pair of you to feel relaxed, safe and happy throughout your stay.
If you’re looking for those lazy Sunday vibes with your pooch they also do a fantastic Sunday Roast.

Velocity Cafe
Velocity Cafe & Bicycle Workshop is a social enterprise aimed at promoting healthy living and increasing cycling in Inverness.
It has been serving vegetarian and vegan food since its inception in 2012.
The business near the city centre has a huge selection of fresh baked vegan or gluten free cakes available every day.
The cafe is dog-friendly and is also committed to be as net zero as possible.
