Food and drink fans in Moray are in for a treat this weekend as a popular festival makes its return for the first time in three years.
The Spirit of Speyside’s Distilled festival is taking place tonight and across two sessions tomorrow at Elgin Town Hall.
Doors opened at 6pm tonight with hundreds making their way to the event to celebrate local food and drink in the area and from further afield.
A number of masterclasses and workshops took place including one focused around the age of casks, a Caorunn Gin Distillery nosing and tasting event and a whisky tasting with Godon and MacPhail.
Tomorrow the event will kick off at noon until 4pm and will reopen for the third session of the weekend at 6pm to 10pm
Those in attendance will also be able to book themselves in for afternoon tea put on by the team at Findhorn’s Torta from noon to 1.30pm or 2-3.30pm.
Other masterclasses including gin tastings, whisky tastings and whisky and food pairings will take place, too.
More than 20 drinks businesses including some of the biggest names in whisky are exhibiting at the event.
And for those who get ravenous at the event, there’s a variety of food stalls just waiting to serve you. From dirty fries and wings from Elgin food truck Nae Bad Food to Qismat Street Food’s Indian cuisine, not to mention Moray Hog Roast and a range of firms with sweet treats, you certainly won’t go hungry.
Interested in heading along today? You can purchase tickets here. They are priced at £25 per session. Ticket holders will have the chance to enjoy six different samples including those from world famous distilleries during the event.
