Fresh for spring, One Square, at Edinburgh’s Sheraton Hotel, has pushed the pastry boundaries with the launch of its all-new honey and floral themed “Afternoon Bee” which packs a fruity punch.
Show-stopping highlights include hand-made sugar bees which adorn heather honey and Manjari chocolate ganache macarons garnished with bee pollen, alongside colourful flower pots that are filled with tiramisu, vanilla cream and chocolate soil, topped with a chocolate daisy.
Afternoon Bee starts with an amuse bouche of lemon posset with fennel biscuits followed by savoury delights including a parsnip and honey shot with parsnip foam, a brown shrimp tart, and soy and lime glazed chicken served on herb focaccia.
The mouth-watering desserts that follow include Seville orange and apricot tea loaf, passion fruit meringue tart garnished with an edible flower, honeycomb and blueberry cheesecake and a chocolate and caramel mousse that is decorated with fun images of buzzing bees.
The traditions of afternoon tea have not been overlooked with the offering of traditional lavender and chocolate and sultana scones, served with clotted cream, while manuka honey lemon curd adds a touch of luxury to this exquisite experience. Afternoon Bee is served with a choice of enveloped or loose-leaf fine teas and infusions that are traditionally prepared at the table.
This delicious culinary treat is available daily in One Square between 2.30pm and 5.30pm throughout April and May and costs £25 per person. To book, call 0131 221 6422 or visit www.OneSquareEdinburgh.co.uk
