Tying in with our coastal celebration this quiz has been kindly supplied by Skye Sailing Club.
The present Skye Sailing Club was formed from the old Portree Sailing Club and the old Skye Sailing Club, which was originally based in Armadale at the south of the island. It is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training Centre with two RYA senior instructors offering RYA qualifications for sailing, windsurfing and powerboating. The club is also helping to train two Atlantic rowers this year.

The aim of the club is to promote and facilitate the sport of sailing in and around the Isle of Skye. It offers free taster sessions to all local primary schools in Skye at primary 7 level, and then the opportunity to become fully qualified sailing instructors by the time they leave school.
The club has an open-door policy encouraging anyone from any background to take up and enjoy the sport. If you are visiting for a holiday, you can join the fun through its recently introduced Sailing Experience sessions with one of the club’s senior instructors.
