Modern style and a rural charm come together in Muilean
The seaside village of Kilmuir in North Kessock has always been a peaceful place to put down roots, but since the opening of the Kessock Bridge it’s also become an ideal spot for those looking for a rural home within easy commuting distance of Inverness.
And rural homes don’t come much nicer than Muilean, a lovely recently built detached five bedroom house which sits at the far end of the village and set back slightly from the road in an elevated position, which means it enjoys southern views across the Moray Firth and the hills beyond.
Priced at offers over £430,000, the accommodation begins with a spacious hallway with walk-in understairs cupboard. From the hall, there’s access to most of the downstairs rooms including the lounge, a bright spacious room with large windows affording views across the Moray Firth.
To the side, patio doors open out to a super decked area. The house has a spacious family living area which has patio doors to the side and from where, there’s lovely views across the Firth to be enjoyed.
This room is on an open plan to the contemporary-styled kitchen. Features here include a built-in Fisher & Paykel dishwasher, Hotpoint oven and coffee maker, Hotpoint fridge and Hotpoint induction hob. The two areas are separated by a breakfast bar divider and a door leads from the kitchen area to the rear hall and utility room which houses the Grant oil fired boiler for the heating system. There is space for a washing machine and a stainless steel sink with under sink unit and worktops are also fitted.
Other rooms on this floor include a good-sized office/bedroom, a family bathroom with three-piece suite and a double bedroom. From the hall, stairs lead to a large bright landing with high coombed ceiling. With two Velux windows and plenty of space, this area could easily be used as a study area or home office.
Upstairs there is a master bedroom with full-length windows, a large walk-in wardrobe with dressing area and an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom two also has large windows, an en-suite shower room and a large built-in wardrobe. There will be no morning rush for the bathroom in this house, as the third bedroom upstairs also comes with a stylish en-suite shower room.
Outside, the house is reached via a gravel driveway which leads to a an ample parking area and a substantial double block-built garage with pitched roof. There are large decked areas and disabled access is provided via the rear door. To the back of the house is an area known as Kilmuir Woodland and access to it can be obtained from the garden. Having only recently been completed, the garden area has not been landscaped or planted.
Local amenities can be found in nearby North Kessock, where there’s a primary school and while secondary schooling is available at the popular Fortrose Academy. There’s further shops and amenities in Munlochy while Inverness is just seven miles away.
