Countryside and city on your doorstep as this Aberdeen property hits the market

When Ian and Frances Fyfe were searching for the perfect pad to retire to, they didn’t want to entirely leave the city behind.

They may no longer be working, but that didn’t mean they were giving up on socialising with friends.

In the end, they began searching for the perfect location to enjoy both country walks and a city location. Happily, they weren’t looking for long.

“A family member received a leaflet through their letter box which featured homes at The Reserve in Maidencraig, Aberdeen,” said Frances, 64.

“We decided to take a look around the development and were overwhelmed by the finish and workmanship in the show home, which then led us to look at the various house styles and site plan.”

Built by Bancon Homes, The Reserve at Eden development is located only a few minutes’ drive from the city centre, yet with the countryside on the doorstep.

Having previously lived in Portlethen, the area suited the Fyfes perfectly – but it wasn’t just the location the couple fell in love with.

“The style of the house suits our needs perfectly,” said Ian, 67.

“It has a great open-plan kitchen, dining and entertaining area with French doors that open on to the garden, which makes the room bright and airy.

“We also love that there is a separate lounge for when it is just the two of us and we want somewhere a little cosier to relax.”

The couple thoroughly enjoyed how easy it was to move into a new development, siting the energy-efficient heating system and all-round low maintenance of the property as two key factors with which they have been particularly impressed.

Now happily settled, the Fyfes are looking forward to the future in their new home. Prices at The Reserve at Eden currently start at £254,995.
