Prepare to be bowled over by this beautiful home’s charm and character, writes Cheryl Livingstone
When it comes to buying a new house, everyone has their own taste – some may like the new builds, others like period features and some like a little bit of both.
I have to say that if I had to choose, I would definitely be in the traditional category. There is just something about period and traditional homes that makes them exude character and charm. I love exposed walls and high ceilings, all hints at its no doubt interesting history.
And I have to admit that Middle Ardo Smiddy in Foveran is definitely a home that would suit me just fine.
This three double bedroom detached home is charming inside and out and is filled with lots of lovely features.
Two rooms I was instantly drawn to were the kitchen and dining room – the latter displaying a gorgeous exposed wall giving the room a very rustic feel.
The kitchen has a lovely farmhouse feel to it with its beamed ceiling and cream base and wall units with contrasting worktops.
The lounge is also delightful. It has been neutrally decorated allowing an open fire with an attractive fireplace surround to take centre stage. It also leads to the bright and airy conservatory, where you can sit and enjoy views of the gorgeous garden whatever the weather is like outside.
Also on this floor is the large master bedroom with wardrobes along one wall of the room and the family bathroom, fitted with a white three piece suite with a shower over the bath.
Upstairs you will find two good sized double bedrooms which both offer views of the open countryside.
Outside the house, on the market for offers over £255,000, there are beautifully kept, extensive gardens with a patio area. The gravelled driveway provides ample parking and the stone built workshop and garage with the two sheds are also included in the sale.
The house is located near the village of Forveran, close to Ellon, which has lots of amenities including school, shops and recreational activities.
