A luxury apartment in the west end of Aberdeen has become the first in the city to receive VisitScotland’s 5* self-catering Quality Assurance (QA) grading.

The national tourist organisation awarded the property at 46 Queens Highland, in Queens Road, which is owned by AM-PM Leasing & Property Management in Aberdeen.

The company has 26 apartments. Nine are city centre, two riverside and 15 Kepplestone, of which some are Queens Mansion and some are Queens Highland. 46 Queens Highland is their only VisitScotland 5 * Quality Assured apartment.

The VisitScotland QA report, compiled following a visit to the property, highlighted the exterior of the building as being “in super condition” with “very secure parking” and “neat and tidy” grounds.

The report said: “The apartment was gleaming, congratulations to the housekeeping team. It shows that a thorough systematic approach is taken when preparing the apartment for letting.”

In relation to the kitchen, the report stated: “Excellent tiling around the work areas and the kitchen units are first class. The equipment is all provided from Smeg and it is exceptional.”

Duncan Kerr, from AM-PM Leasing & Property Management in Aberdeen, who own the apartment, said: “AM-PM Serviced Apartments are delighted to have received a 5-star rating award from VisitScotland.

“We are always striving to provide top-quality, short-term accommodation to the oil and gas industry and tourist visitors to Aberdeen and we feel honoured to have been recognised in this way, which is a reflection of all the hard work and dedication of the AM-PM staff.”

VisitScotland regional director, Philip Smith, said: “I would like to offer
my congratulations to Duncan and his team on this fantastic achievement. Five-star status shows visitors that they can expect extremely high-class accommodation in Aberdeen.

“It is vital that everyone involved in tourism works together to offer visitors a fantastic experience when they come and stay in the region.

“Our Quality Assurance scheme helps businesses to reach their full potential and truly shine. The scheme is about more than just the ‘stars’ on the door – it’s about the entire visitor experience, about investing in your business and making it as economically sustainable as it can possibly be.

“Developed and improved over the past 25 years, VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance schemes are world-leading and provide a trusted, independent and impartial source of information for visitors. It allows businesses not to just meet visitor experiences, but exceed them.”
