Hyundai has given a sneak peek of its upcoming Kona SUV.
Set to join the brand’s range of SUVs, the Kona is named after a district of Hawaii.
The image revealed by Hyundai gives an indication of the Kona’s aggressive new design language.
The new SUV is tasked with leading the way in the brand’s push to become the biggest Asian car market by 2021.
Hyundai is planning to launch 30 new models and derivatives leading up to 2021.
When released, it will go up against rivals such as the Nissan Juke and Kia Soul.
Hyundai claims the Kona will be a “true SUV”, showing that it will have some level of off-road ability. This could be through the use of technology found in the larger Santa Fe.
Further details of the Kona, the fourth member of Hyundai’s SUV family, will be released in the coming months.
