BMW has pulled the wraps off revised versions of its popular 1 and 2 Series models.
As with the latest 4 Series, changes to the two models are subtle. The 1 Series gains new LED headlights and taillights, as well as three new special editions.
These are Sport Line Shadow, M Sport Shadow and the M140i Edition Shadow. The new variants gain additional styling tweaks that include a black kidney grille, black inserts in the headlights and darkened taillights.
BMW has also made two new exterior colours available – Sunset Orange and Seaside Blue – as well as five new styles of alloy wheel.
In the cabin, the 1 Series gains a redesigned instrument panel, as well as a new style of leather upholstery.
The 2 Series Coupe and Convertible models have also been only slightly revised from an aesthetic point of view. As with the 1 Series, the 2 Series gains LED headlights and taillights, as well as new front end.
Inside, BMW has worked to improve driver focus, with a newly designed instrument panel. The German manufacturer also claims the 2 Series now has a more spacious and calmer interior than its predecessor.
Both the 1 Series and 2 Series also benefit from improved infotainment offerings, with the latest iDrive system being fitted to both model lines.
A high-resolution 8.8-inch display with satnav is also available as an option on both models.
Customers will be able to order the new 1 Series in three and five-door guises, while the 2 Series will be available as a coupe or a convertible.
Both models are set to go on sale in July.
