Fancy personalising your new McLaren, but finding the current factory customisation options a bit dated?
Well, good news, as its special operations arm has unveiled an extension of its existing range of custom parts.
McLaren Special Operations, the arm of the British manufacturer responsible for customisation and bespoke projects, is offering new options for sports series models, including a new SuperSports exhaust and carbon-fibre bodywork upgrades.
For a more sinister look there is the MSO Defined Black Pack, which gives buyers of a 570S Coupe or 570GT the ability to swap some components that are finished in grey
as standard for black equivalents. This includes the front splitter, aero blades, side skirts, side air intakes, the rear diffuser and sections of the rear bumper.
Those looking for more carbon fibre on their supercar are also well-catered for thanks to the introduction of MSO Defined carbon-fibre sill covers, which are complete with McLaren branding with a satin finish. This is available on all current sports series models, covering the 540C and 570GT, as well as both spider and coupe variants of the 570S.
There’s also the previously mentioned SuperSports exhaust – which is five kilograms lighter than the standard unit used on all sports series models. This is achieved with the use of titanium throughout the full system, with McLaren also saying the exhaust produces a “cleaner, crisper tone above 5,000rpm”.
The SuperSports exhaust is now available for an extra £4,750 when ordering a new McLaren, with the ~firm also offering it as an after-sales option later in 2018.
Completing the new range of options are MSO Defined keys, which can be painted in either black or McLaren’s trademark orange.
