Organisers James Parker and Nick Livingstone were delighted with this year’s SpeedFest, which had the biggest ever attendance, and one of the biggest for the Grampian Transport Museum.
Emeli Sande’s dad, Joel, opened the event, which featured a host of spectacular cars.
Visitors to events at the Grampian Transport Museum are used to seeing all manner of cars, trucks, and bikes, but this year’s SpeedFest14 event had something a little bit different. A Pitts Special biplane wowed the crowd as it gave a spectacular display.
A bit closer to earth, the spectacular flame-spitting 42-litre Bentley, the Jim Robbins Special, a tyre-shredding drift show and the first Dragster to appear at Alford kept the 4,100-strong crowd entertained, and the show had more than 100 brilliant cars onsite, with 60 taking to the track for the drivers’ and the crowd’s enjoyment. The weather was on everyone’s side and it is hoped that the event can come back bigger and even better next year.
