The Ariel badge is to return to a brand new motorbike for the first time in 50 years, with the announcement of the Ace.
After much success with the Atom car, which uses a Honda engine to power a lightweight tubular frame for maximum speed and thrills, Ariel has turned its sights to two wheels again, and will once more use Honda power.
The Ace is a highly customisable, high-quality and low volume bike that will be made alongside the Atom in the firm’s Somerset factory.
A familiar-looking tubular frame echoes the Atom’s construction and forms a strong backbone to support the 1,237cc, 173bhp Honda V4 engine. There are three fuel tank size options from 14 to 21 litres, and there’s even an automatic gearbox available if desired.
Each Ace will be built by just one technician, who takes responsibility for its entire construction from start to finish. Customers will be able to visit the factory to see their bike mid-build, too.
The customisable nature of the Ace extends throughout its life. The machine can be returned to the factory and refitted with a different set of parts to make it look like a completely different bike.
