You might have heard of the Renault Captur compact crossover. You might even own one – tens of thousands have found homes in the UK so far. Renault has revealed its big brother.
The Kadjar is a size up from the Captur and will be a direct rival for the Nissan Qashqai – even sharing a chassis with the super-successful Nissan. Its focus
will not just be on a high driving position, but on
fuel economy and emissions.
Two-wheel drive with diesel engines will almost certainly be the most popular combination in the UK, but advanced petrol choices and four-wheel drive options will also be made available.
At 4.45 metres long, the Kadjar is still a compact vehicle, using its height to maximise interior space and legroom while aiming to stay small enough to be unintimidating in town.
The latest levels of connectivity are promised, while CO2 emissions are said to be targeted at the best current cars in the class, thanks to a range of “particularly efficient engines”, Renault says.
The new Renault Kadjar goes on sale in the summer. The first UK deliveries may not be until September this year, though.
