Ducati has given the first glimpse of the first three customised Scrambler ‘specials’.
One bike was given to each of three “friends of the Ducati Scrambler team,” otherwise known as design houses, resulting in three stunning one-off customisations which have been unveiled at the Verona Motor Bike Expo.
In a statement, Ducati said: “These first creations are just a starting point for further joint projects in the future, the aim being to highlight the Ducati Scrambler’s versatility and infinite customisation
potential.
“The three customisers were given a clear brief: each was free to interpret one of the three versions of the Ducati Scrambler according to their own personal style.
“Deus Ex Machina from Milan put forward their idea for the Full Throttle; Officine Mermaid from Milan interpreted the Urban Enduro in their own special way, while Mr Martini from Verona created their very own Classic.”
The Deus Italy ‘Hondo Grattan’ starts with the frame and places emphasis on the minimalist metal bodywork and speedway-inspired headlight.
A “rough and ready look that’s Spartan and basic” defines the Officine Mermaid ‘Scrambler Scratch.’ It wears 21 and 18in wheels at the front and rear, as well as bare metal, specially-treated bodywork.
Reviving the ‘café racer’ era with modern Italian flair was in the minds of those at Mr Martini, choosing a more American look along with fittingly Scrambler-esque knobbly tyres and high exhaust.
