An all-new diesel engine will let the Range Rover Evoque hit 68mpg, its makers claim.
Land Rover is aiming to add frugality to the Evoque’s stylish portfolio of trim grades, materials options and paint colours.
Hand-in-hand with the new, much-improved fuel economy, the Ingenium eD4 diesel has been signed off with just 109g/km of CO2 emissions for the entry-level front-wheel-drive version, putting the car in the £20-per-year road-tax bracket.
The improvements come at the same time as a minor series of visual updates to the popular compact SUV.
As well as the 148bhp eD4 engine, there is a 178bhp version that achieves 59mpg and emissions from 125g/km.
