Talk of the Town is Society’s round-up of some of the best north-east food and drink deals, specials and hotspots on offer every week.
If you fancy trying out a new spot for your morning coffee this week, we have just the place…
Mount
Aberdeen’s latest addition to its coffee shop scene comes in the form of Mount. However, this is a coffee shop a twist.
Its owners are avid Munro baggers and aim to bring an outdoor experience inside.
The venue opened on Upperkirkgate just last week. Expect quality artisan coffee here, as well as bakes and cakes from local bakers plus extras like sustainable greetings cards.
Parx Cafe
Aberdeen’s West End is home to a number of great independent food and drink spots. Parx Cafe on Rubislaw Terrace is one of them.
Lunches come served in style here with sandwiches, poke bowls, local pies and much more showcasing a diverse array of dishes.
Breakfasts and luscious cakes also come with plenty of gluten-free options to choose from.
Noks Thai Kitchen
Fan of Thai food? This Dyce food truck on Howemoss Avenue is well worth visiting.
Noks Thai Kitchen serves up an array of Thai favourites at very decent value.
Starters such as vegetable spring rolls all come in at £3 each while stir fry, curry and both vegetarian and vegan mains only cost £6 with rice or noodles included.
Foodstory
Based on Aberdeen’s Thistle Street, Foodstory is one of Aberdeen’s most modern, relaxed and forward-thinking cafes.
The fresh bakes and cakes on offer here are heavenly alongside a cup of warming coffee.
A great variety of hot dishes are also available for breakfast and lunch and keep an eye out for some of the fun, creative events that the venue regularly hosts.
Faffless
If you’re into trying out new, quality and sometimes quirky drinks, Faffless on Aberdeen’s Netherkirkgate is a top venue to visit for a tipple.
A great range of wines, whiskies and many other spirits are all readily available here.
Soaking it all in with the venue’s contemporary artwork makes for a sophisticated concoction that’s perfect for the weekend.
