Hebrides Cruises is to offer a new Caledonian Canal Cruise for October. The new six-night Explorer Cruise is designed to be a true journey of discovery, with an expert onboard – wildlife guide Vivi Bolin – ensuring guests get the most out of the landscape, heritage and natural environment. There are excellent walking and wildlife-spotting opportunities and guests have the option of bringing their own bikes to explore deeper into the Great Glen.
Skipper Rob Barlow and Bosun Sarah Kirk will identify the highlights of the itinerary and consult guests for their preferences, both onboard and onshore. This will also be a cruise for food lovers with onboard chef Steve Milne creating a seasonal menu which celebrates Scottish cuisine.
Rob Barlow, who owns Hebrides Cruises, said: “We have introduced this new cruise to our calendar to provide an engaging discovery of the natural and heritage highlights of the Great Glen. One of the delights of the itinerary is to experience the scenic, wildlife and culinary contrasts between the open water of sea lochs on the west coast and the sheltered waters of the canal and inland lochs that make up the Caledonian Canal.”
The first cruise will depart from Oban on Saturday, October 3, while the second cruise departs from Inverness on Saturday, October 10. The cruise is available at an introductory price of £1,125 per person, which includes all meals, snacks, wine with dinner and guided walks ashore.
