Autumn may have just begun but if you want to enjoy a rather special Christmas treat, now is the time to get organised.
The Royal Yacht Britannia is the venue for a night to remember on Saturday, December 12 as a black-tie evening of music and fine dining will take place in the ship’s state dining room, recreating the kind of entertainment and fine dining members of the royal family and visiting heads of state would have enjoyed.
A wonderful way to get in the festive mood, this event aims to relive the elegance of a bygone era with the splendour that is the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Places for this exclusive event are limited to just 45 couples who will enjoy a red carpet welcome, followed by champagne and canapes in the ship’s drawing room while being entertained by the resident pianist.
Guests will then enjoy a guided tour where you have access to Britannia’s five decks, and a unique insight into the history of the royal yacht and how the royal family and crew lived and worked on board. The sense of occasion builds as dinner is announced. The grand mahogany doors are opened to reveal the magnificent candlelit state dining rooms.
Using the finest, seasonal ingredients, the dishes, created in the original royal galley, will then be served by Britannia’s expert butlers. You will then indulge in a delicious four-course dinner such as HRH the Queen herself would have enjoyed.
In between courses you will be delightfully entertained by Andrew Beasley, probably the premier Sinatra and “Rat Pack” artist in the UK. As well as Sinatra favourites such as I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Andrew will also sing some Christmas favourites.
Prices for this special event start from £499 per person (plus VAT) and based on two people sharing. The price includes an overnight stay at the five-star Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa and transfers to and from the hotel and ship.
