No matter how often they may pretend it’s not true, at certain times of the year, every woman wants to be treated like a princess – especially on Valentine’s Day.

This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday, and this weekend is the perfect time to whisk your loved one away to a venue that’s perfect for every potential princess and prince, Fasque Castle. The 19th-century baronial mansion, one of Scotland’s most prestigious wedding venues, looks like it was built especially for romantic breaks.

Romantic flights of fancy can become a reality as Cupid spreads his wings over the Aberdeenshire castle this weekend. With a little help from the superbly trained staff, a special Valentine’s weekend deal is on offer, with the option to book a dinner, bed and breakfast package on an individual room basis.

Norbert Lieder, managing director of ICMI, said: “Fasque Castle is normally an exclusive-use venue, available to clients looking to hire the whole castle, so this Valentine’s package provides a rare glimpse into one of Scotland’s most romantic locations and promises to offer couples a magical and memorable overnight stay.”

This traditional castle on the Queen Victoria Heritage trail has been brought up to date with carefully curated modern interiors. Valentine’s guests lucky enough to secure a room for the night will be treated to the full five-star experience for which this popular award-winning wedding venue is renowned. The first choice for guests to make is to select accommodation from one of the 19 distinctive and sumptuous castle rooms or the privacy of a cosy cottage within the grounds.

Following check-in on Saturday, February 13, guests will be invited for Champagne and canapés in the main hall and an intimate four-course dinner prepared with the finest ingredients. After dinner, guests are invited to relax and unwind in one of the extensive lounge areas and enjoy the comforts of a roaring fire and a nightcap before retiring.

Throughout their stay, couples are welcome to spend time together exploring the sprawling 400-acre grounds before completing their fairytale experience with a leisurely breakfast, served later than usual, from 9.30am onwards.

Non-residents are also being offered a treat as they have a rare opportunity to enjoy dinner at the castle on Saturday, February 13. Beginning with a welcoming glass of Prosecco, the evening includes a three-course dinner, followed by tea, coffee or truffles, at just £58 per person. The dinner, bed and breakfast option is priced from £499.
