And they’re off … this season’s Perth Racecourse’s meeting get underway next week with the first of the season taking place between Wednesday April 20 and Friday April 22.
The whole country was caught up in the excitement and drama of the recent Grand National and millions watched the race on TV, as Rule The World stormed home as the winner.
However, nothing beats the drama, excitement and sheer joy of attending a race meeting in person. Watching the horse you’ve placed a wager on come thundering along the track, while the crowd around you cheer on their favourite runners and riders is one of the most exciting feelings you can experience.
At Perth Racecourse, there are numerous exciting race days to look forward to with some of the season’s big highlights including the hugely popular Ladies Day in May. For many, it’s the race meeting in May that is the biggest draw.
Ladies, you need to grab your hat, heels and poshest frocks and come to the annual event taking place on Thursday, May 12. Proceeds from the day will go to the charity, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and the day has promised to be bigger and pinker than ever.
There will be seven thrilling jump races, a best dressed lady competition with a top prize of £1000, and competitions for the best dressed male and hat. Along with the racing, there’s a huge programme of entertainment on offer, and a wealth of drinks tents, food options and music.
