Police are investigating break-ins at two business premises on Orkney.
The Co-op, Pickaquoy Road, Kirkwall and The Brig Larder, Albert Street, Kirkwall, were both targetted in the early hours of Wednesday, August 17.
One man has been arrested and charged in relation to the incident at Brig Larder and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.
Area Inspector Alicen Winston said “It is disappointing to find that we have two incidents where property has been violated in Kirkwall in the space of a few hours.
“We believe that the incidents are not connected and we are following a very positive line of enquiry to trace and interview the male suspected of committing the break in at the Co-op premises who is described as male in his 20’s , 5’4”- 5’6” wearing black tracksuit trousers, black shoes and a black tracksuit top with white sleeves and black gloves.
“I would appeal to any members of the public in Orkney who may have information relevant to either of the above incidents to contact the police at Kirkwall on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.”
