A flower display inspired by the Rio Olympics has gone on display at Laurencekirk Railway Station.
It was created by the Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network gardening groups in conjunction with pupils from Laurencekirk Primary.
The display includes the flags of countries from across the globe, and is complete with planted Olympic rings.
Elsewhere the new Portlethen group have planted up whisky barrel planters along each platform at the town’s station.
The group is currently seeking younger volunteers. For further information contact Bernie Dawks at Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network, 44 High Street, Laurencekirk AB30 1AB, 01561 378130 or email mchln.berniedawks@gmail.com.
Knittykittybangbang will be hosting its first craft and vintage market in Inverurie on Saturday, August 27 at the town hall.
The event will be open from 11am to 4pm and entry is free.
