A woman who died after being hit by a car in Aberdeenshire has been described as a “much-loved mum, granny and great-granny”.
Mary Donald, from Ellon, was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being struck by a blue Peugeot 208 on Saturday morning on the A920 South Road, Ellon.
Her family paid tribute to the 89 year old.
They said: “Mary was very well known in Ellon where she had lived for many years.
“She was known for being out walking, which she did everyday rain or shine. She was a very independent lady, she had been a widow for over 30 years.
“She was a much loved mum, granny and great granny. Mum will be sorely missed by both family and friends.”
Inquiries into the collision are ongoing and anyone with information who hasn’t yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
