Police have seized cannabis worth an estimated street value of £16,000 after working with local charity Dogs Against Drugs.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested for being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.
Shetland Area Commander, Chief Inspector Lindsay Tulloch said: “This seizure demonstrates our commitment to dedicate police resources to work hand in hand with the drugs dogs to detect drugs being sent or carried to Shetland”
“We have excellent working relationships with police colleagues on the mainland who assist us to identify individuals taking drugs to Shetland.
“By working in partnership with colleagues in Border Policing and ensuring we have trained officers based on Shetland we have significantly increased or ability to disrupt the supply of drugs to communities in Shetland and arrest those responsible.
“Between April 2014–15, 10 people were arrested and charged with supplying drugs on Shetland. Between April 2015-16, 32 people have been arrested and charged with supplying drugs on Shetland. This demonstrates our commitment to continue to stop people willing to take drugs to Shetland.
