First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she is willing to lead a UK wide effort to preserve the country’s membership of the single market.
When pressed at Prime Minister’s Question Time by MP Angus Robertson over whether the UK would remain a member, Theresa May said she would not give a “running commentary” on negotiations with European Union (EU).
Of those who voted to leave in the referendum, three quarters say immigration control should be the priority in Brexit negotiations if it comes to a trade-off.
Remainers feel that protecting access to the market is most important, by a 22-point margin.
