A stricken vessel off the coast of Shetland remained at anchor yesterday as bad weather prevented it being towed into port.
The Eems Star suffered engine trouble roughly eight miles south-west of Scalloway at about 11am on Sunday, with the Aith lifeboat called out to assist.
The Dutch cargo ship had six crew members on board when it experienced engine problems.
The Eems Star was anchored one mile from the Shetland coast with the Marine and Coastguard Agency (MCA) emergency towing vessel, Herakles, and the tug, Dunter, standing by on scene.
Bad weather and rough seas prevented the ship being towed into the harbour.
A Shetland Coastguard spokeswoman said that an attempt could be made to tow the boat again overnight or this morning if conditions improve.
