Police appeal for help in tracing missing teenagers

Police are looking to a trace a pair of teenagers reported missing from the Ayrshire area.

12-year-old Jake Slessor was last seem in James Crescent in Irvine at around midday on Sunday.

He is described as 4ft8in with fair hair and was last seen wearing a black tracksuit, a white t-shirt and blue trainers.

Shiona Homer, 15, was last seen on Nelson Road in Saltcoats around 2.50pm on the same day.

She is described as 5ft5in, with a slim build and medium length brown hair.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white top and navy cardigan.

Inspector Colin Convery from Irvine police office said:

“Jake and Shiona are friends and have both gone missing before however, given their age and the length of time they’ve been away, concern is growing for their welfare.

“Both are known to spend time in the Irvine, Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Largs areas and I would appeal to anyone with information on their whereabouts to get in touch with officers via 101.

“I would also appeal directly to Jake and Shiona to please make contact with someone to let us know they are safe.”
