A leading north-east crime writer has put a rare prize up for auction to help save lives at sea.
Award-winning author Stuart MacBride has donated the chance for one lucky fan to be immortalised on the pages his next Logan McRae thriller to help raise funds for the RNLI.
Participants have until just Friday to register their online bid.
The winner will then be quizzed by the author who will write a character based on their personality into the story.
It could be a police officer, a witness, a suspect or a victim.
The winner will also receive a signed copy of the book when it goes on sale.
Anne Scott, a community fundraising manager with the RNLI, said: “We have worked with Stuart in the past and the money raised has been a very welcome contribution to our cause.
“The money from the auction will help support the volunteers with both the rescue operations and educating local communities on safety at sea.
“I look forward to seeing how well the auction will do.”
