Police in Aberdeen have carried out an operation targeting violent offenders wanted on warrants.
The seven-day operation carried out last week led to the arrest of 17 people who had been evading the justice system.
Officers also executed 30 warrants which had been issued in relation to serious and violent crimes.
Inspector Davie Howieson said: “It is a priority for officers to ensure that all offenders within our area are brought to justice quickly.
“When this does not happen we will take robust action to ensure that you are brought before the court again – potentially to face further action.
“I would like to stress to anyone who is going through the court process that you are required to attend hearings at the times and dates given to you.
“If you don’t a warrant will be issued for your arrest and we will make every effort to trace you and bring you to justice.
“I would urge anyone with a fine or outstanding case to ensure that they make suitable arrangements to deal with the issue to avoid being taken into custody.
“We will continue to target offenders and I want to thank the public for their continued assistance in tracing people who think it is acceptable to flaunt the criminal justice system.”
