A grounded fishing boat sparked a major rescue operation off North Uist.
Two fishermen issued a mayday call after their vessel grounded on a reef near the tidal island of Vallay.
A spokeswoman for Stornoway Coastguard said that the fishermen had reported that the boat was taking on water.
Leverburgh lifeboat was launched at about 8am as well as Stonroway based helicopter Rescue 948 and coastguard ground teams from Benbecula and Griminish.
The vessel was refloated and accompanied to the harbour at Griminish for assessment and repairs.
A coastguard spokesman confirmed that the two fishermen were both “safe and well”.
