A motorcyclist was taken to hospital yesterday after colliding with a car on a main north road.
The accident happened on the A82 Inverness-Fort William road, near Urquhart Castle, at about 1.50pm.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said two local ambulance crews attended the scene and the motorcyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness in a stable condition.
The road re-opened at around 4.45pm.
A woman had to be cut free from her car after colliding with a lorry on a main Orkney road yesterday.
The accident happened on the A965 Kirkwall to Finstown road, two miles west of Kirkwall, shortly before 12.38pm.
Three fire appliances – two from Kirkwall and one from St Margaret’s Hope – went to the scene.
A fire service spokeswoman said crews cut the woman from her car using cutting gear.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman, in her 80s, was taken to Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall complaining of back pain but it was not thought to be serious.
A woman was flown to hospital after a “long fall” in the Highlands.
Scottish Ambulance Service received a 999 call just after 2pm with reports of a woman in her 50s falling in Laggan.
She was taken by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital with head injuries but was in a stable condition.
