An Aberdeen children’s charity has received a £20,000 donation from Barratt Homes.
Staff at the award-winning housebuilder raised £10,000 for Charlie House, with the amount then matched by the company.
The charity, which provides support for families with children who have multiple complex needs and life limiting conditions, was chosen as the housebuilder’s north-east charity partner at the start of the year.
Staff have organised bake sales, a golf outing, an office tuck box and collection cans to help raise the much-needed funds.
A group of staff members also took part in the Prime Four Beast Race to give the campaign a final push.
The firm’s regional director Douglas McLeod, said: “Each year we choose a local charity to support and with Charlie House doing fantastic work for children across the north-east, we couldn’t think of a better cause.
“All of our staff members have done a fantastic job in arranging events, activities and collections to help drive the campaign and I am very proud to see everyone come together and support the charity.”
The funds will help the charity to continue delivering vital services to local people while also supporting its long-term goal of building a specialist care centre in the city.
Lynn Batham, corporate and community fundraiser at Charlie House, said: “This donation will allow us to expand our current services and help us to reach out to more families, offering them vital support when they need it most.”
