The deaths of a couple in the Western Isles area not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Donald and Maureen MacMillan were found outside their home in Gravir in the South Loch area of Lewis last Friday morning.
A major police investigation was launched to determine the circumstances around the tragedy.
Police have bow confirmed that their deaths are “not being treated as suspicious”.
Detective Inspector Richard Baird said: “The tragic and untimely deaths of Mr and Mrs MacMillan have understandably shaken the local and wider communities of the Western Isles and our sympathies extend to everyone who knew the popular and highly respected couple.
“Officers would like to thank members of the local community for their support and co-operation during the investigation.”
Reports have now been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Mr MacMillan, who was known locally as “Boy”, had been postmaster for the area for decades after taking over from his father, also called Donald.
Mrs MacMillan, whose given name was Morag but was known as Maureen, was originally from Harris and previously worked at the nearby primary school.
She was also a care assistant for a neighbour.
