William Hanks, 83, was within the property at Kildonan when the blaze broke out on February 15. Following the incident a joint scene examination was carried out by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and police investigators. A force spokesman said the assessment is that the fire is not believed to be suspicious. “Our thoughts continue to be with Mr Hanks’ family at this tragic time,” he added.
