Singing sensation Emeli Sande added to her growing collection of awards last night when she scooped the British Female Solo Artist prize at this year’s Brit Awards.
The accolade was the star’s fourth Brit Award and the second time she has been victorious in that category following her last win in 2013.
Emeli was joined on stage by her sister Lucy, who she attributed her success to, and also thanked her family and management.
It’s an incredible success story and one that started in the Aberdeenshire village of Alford.
The award-winning musician has had three number-one singles while her album, Our Version of Events, was one of the top selling UK albums of 2012.
The 29-year-old also performed at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics, won countless awards and has fans across the world.
