Kirkwall Lifeboat was first tasked to the fishing vessel which had a fouled propeller about 40 miles east of Orkney yesterday morning. The lifeboat left Kirkwall at 8am heading for the Fraserburgh-registered Sunrise. The lifeboat arrived on scene around 10am to tow the fishing boat back to Kirkwall. The Coastguard emergency tug Ievoli Black was initially also called out but was turned back. Longhope Lifeboat was also tasked to the fishing vessel, and made its way towards the stricken boat in the afternoon to assist in the tow.
