A young calf sparked a large fire at a farm building on Skye.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the blaze on Struan, on the West coast of the isle, at 3.45pm on Friday and spent more than four hours bringing the incident under control.
The fire was started after a calf, which had been unwell, hit a heat lamp which was placed next to it.
After it was knocked down by the animal, the hay bales next to the animal burst into flames.
Three fire teams – from Portree, Staffin and Broadford – were called to the incident.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “We had a farm building on fire. We got the call at 3.55pm and left the incident at 7.55pm.
“We had two breathing apparatus in use. We were there for quite some time. The appliances we sent were Portree and Staffin, and we also had Broadford go to that.
“We started applying water from the ground to fight the fire when we arrived at the scene. Once we managed to control the fire, we then entered the building using breathing apparatus.
“We then carried out internal fire-fighting.”
No one is said to have been injured.
The fire and rescue service could not confirm if the calf or any other animals were harmed in the blaze.
