Fire fighters were called out to a blaze at a vacant property in Aberdeen last night.
Three crews from Aberdeen answered the call to attend a well-established fire at a residential house in Cove, just before 10pm on Monday and battled the flames for around one hour.
The 11 fire-fighters had the blaze under control quickly, but remained on the scene to dampen down hot spots – there were no casualties.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “Firefighters responded to reports of a dwelling fire at a detached bungalow at 9:48pm on Monday, March 13.
“Three fire appliances were mobilised at the vacant property found on Redwood Crescent, Cove.
“Crews arrived to find the building well alight and used powerful water jets to tackle the flames externally.
“A total of six fire-fighters dressed in protective breathing apparatus were also deployed to help bring the fire under control.”
Neighbours locally said that the owners of the house live abroad and were rarely in the property. An investigation will now be launched to understand the cause of the fire.
